Industrial Engineering Combines Engineering, Production and Business Expertise
The new Industrial Engineering degree programme prepares students for careers in production development, project management and data-driven decision-making. It responds to the growing demand for skilled professionals in industry, particularly in the Vaasa region, which is known for its strong energy and export industries. The programme combines expertise in engineering, production and business.
Students gain knowledge and skills in areas such as production planning and optimisation, supply chain management, quality, environmental and safety management, and project management. The programme also places a strong emphasis on digitalisation, data analytics and the application of artificial intelligence in industrial development.
Future Energy Professionals for the Needs of a Sustainable Energy Transition
The popular Bachelor's Degree Programme in Energy Technology addresses the growing demand for professionals in clean energy and the green transition. The programme combines expertise in renewable energy sources, smart energy production, power plant technology, project management and business. Students become part of the Vaasa region's internationally recognised energy technology cluster already during their studies.
The curriculum covers sustainable energy production, energy systems and life-cycle thinking, as well as ways to develop energy generation and distribution with environmental impact in mind. Students work on real-life projects in collaboration with industry partners throughout their studies, gaining valuable practical experience and professional networks.
Experts Prepared for a Changing Security Environment
Crises, cyber threats, shifts in the security landscape and rapid technological change are increasing organisations’ need for a new kind of leadership expertise. The new Master's Degree Programme in Crisis Leadership and Innovation has been designed to meet this demand. The programme combines crisis leadership, strategic decision-making, the application of artificial intelligence, and the strengthening of organisational resilience.
The programme is open to applicants with a bachelor's degree or equivalent higher education qualification, regardless of their field of study. Depending on the applicant's educational background, the programme can be completed in 1 to 1.5 years.
